Cornerstone Community Church marks 30 years of ministry, and as my husband and I look back on the road we’ve chosen to travel, we are filled with deep gratitude.
Though we could have taken different paths in our careers, nothing could have been more rewarding or fulfilling than serving in the ministry of our God and King for the past 35 years — and for 30 of those years, as Founding Senior Pastors of Cornerstone.
We have witnessed, time and again, the glorious work of God; how He moves through yielded lives. We are continually overwhelmed by His goodness; for what began in Singapore has expanded far beyond our shores, a testament to His unwavering faithfulness and the power of His call.
A Promise For Every Believer
Jesus once made a truly astounding declaration:
“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in Me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.” — John 14:12
Let that sink in.
This promise wasn’t made only to apostles, prophets, pastors, or preachers. Jesus said whoever believes in Him will do the works He did. And what kind of works did Jesus do? He healed the sick, cast out demons, proclaimed truth with boldness, and walked in divine power, compassion, and purpose. That includes you, whoever believes in Him.
But Jesus didn’t stop there. He added, “even greater works than these.” Not greater in raw power, for after all how do you surpass raising the dead or calming a storm? But greater in scope, greater in reach, and greater in global redemptive impact.
And the reason?
Because He has gone to the Father.
The Turning Point of History
This one truth changed everything. When Jesus ascended to the Father – through His death, resurrection, and glorification, these did not signal the end of His ministry, they were the beginning of ours.
When Jesus returned to the Father, He poured out the Holy Spirit not on a select few, but on all who believe. This was not a symbolic gesture but the beginning of a full divine transfer of Kingdom authority and power.
Through the Holy Spirit, we now multiply Christ’s presence across the earth, teach with His wisdom, stand in His priestly intercession and carry His delegated authority to preach the gospel, heal the sick, and cast out demons.
This is not a myth. This is our inheritance. This is our calling.
The Time For Greater Things Is Now
We are living in the days of greater things where the reach of Christ’s ministry has gone global. His power has not diminished. In fact, His works have been multiplied through millions of Spirit-filled lives across the earth.
The power backing us is nothing less than Heaven itself, with Jesus still interceding on our behalf. Let us not minimise what Jesus said. Let us not water it down, hesitate, or hide behind fear. The world does not need more silence or excuses; it needs men and women fully convinced of what Christ has made possible.
If there is one thing we desperately need today, it is revelation, not just more information. We need believers who walk in power, speak with clarity, and move with courage. We need those who know Christ intimately to walk boldly in the greater works that the Holy Spirit has already made available.
Let it be known that we do all this for one reason, for the glory of Christ and for the impact He longs to make on the earth. So that all who hear might believe, so that none should perish.
We must allow Christ’s Word to take hold of us, and for us to give ourselves wholly to it, that it may do its work in us. The time for greater things is not some far-off revival. It is not a future promise we are waiting on. The time for greater things is now. And it starts with you.
Partnering In His Eternal Purposes
Through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, Jesus continues His work — through us, His Church. This is an incredible invitation which we’ve been given and it is to partner with Him in fulfilling His purposes across the nations.
As we celebrate this milestone, we stand in awe of all that God has done, and with great expectation for all that He is yet to do.
To God be the glory!
