BCW Prayer & Intercessory Journey

Participants of the trip share their reflections on what they took away from the time of prayer in Wales.

A Willing Vessel - Don Yeo

Joining the intercessory trail to The Bible College of Wales (BCW) is a dream realised. Since joining Cornerstone in 2019, I have come to see this as our inheritance of intercession and revival – one that we must step forward to claim!

The journey of more than 20 hours from Singapore kept my heart pondering: Why us? Standing on the grounds where Rees Howells and Evan Roberts once moved in power, I was deeply humbled that God would choose Singaporeans and Cornerstone to redeem The BCW and Pisgah Chapel. It felt as though the Holy Spirit was weaving a tapestry of revival across history, kneading our destinies together. It was like seeing a vision of Rees Howells and Evan Roberts laying their hands on Pastor Yang and Pastor Daphne – on behalf of Cornerstone –asking: “It is your time now... are you willing?” There is indeed a price to pay for the fulfilment of the “every creature commission”.

Throughout the trip, it felt surreal, as if we were all handpicked so that God could call us to crucify our own wills, just as He did with Rees Howells. As we ministered to each other, we were ministered to in return, becoming ready to receive the next assignment that God had prepared for us.

My response? I am but a smooth stone in David’s pouch, ready to be aimed and shot forth by

His hand. I am willing, Lord; help me in my unwillingness.

An Inheritance to Steward - Rosa Dwisanty

“Go where others have stepped before you, so your feet won’t sink” – one of the safest ways to travel across deep snow is to do just that. This became an important lesson for me throughout the seven days in The BCW & Wales, as I reflected on my walk with God, truthfully & authentically.

It was sobering to step into pieces of history, where the footsteps of fathers, mothers, brothers & sisters who had gone before us chose to lay their lives down to stand in the gap for Wales, the UK, and the nations. They have sown seeds that have reaped a harvest of fruitfulness, breakthroughs & revivals, then and now still, around the world.

It was humbling to know such is the heritage and inheritance these have left behind for each of us here in Cornerstone and in God’s vast Kingdom – to inherit, steward, and to multiply.

I was honoured to step into the footsteps of our contemporaries who are ahead of us, by experience

& obedience, despite age. Also to witness the fruit of those whom the Lord had sent to faithfully re-dig revival wells across the UK some 25 years ago, as well as of those whom the Lord had entrusted to reclaim, restore, and reinstate His heart for the various places in Wales, including The BCW and Pisgah Chapel.

Bend Me - Constance Chia

Right from the start, the LORD impressed upon me the privilege He has bestowed on Cornerstone to redeem The BCW as an inheritance. I am so thankful to our pastors for their obedience and to the Lord for choosing us to steward this work. It is a very significant inheritance and responsibility. What I knew, had read, and heard became reality to me as I walked the grounds of The BCW.

On the first night, we joined the weekly night prayer meeting to pray for Wales. I was stirred to jealousy by the fervour and faithfulness of the small group of elderly intercessors and the level of intercession offered by them for Wales. They reminded me of Pastor Bailey’s description of a select company of people who are called, chosen, and faithful to the end. It also gave me a glimpse of the kind of prayers that Rees Howells and his intercessors might have prayed. That night, I repented before the Lord for my prayerlessness and how distant I was from knowing the Lord’s heart for Wales and the work of The BCW.

We had the privilege of touring and praying in the Blue Room that Rees Howells and the Bible College intercessors had used for prayer. During our prayer session, the presence of the Lord was so strong. As we were pressing in for more, the Lord told me that we needed to surrender and empty ourselves to Him so that we could offer prayers led by the Holy Spirit, holy and sacred, before the Lord. This must be the reason why Rees Howells was such an effective intercessor. He surrendered all to the Lord.

Another sacred moment came during our worship time at Blaenannerch Chapel. This was the place where, years ago, the Holy Spirit had fallen on Evan Roberts, and he cried, “Bend me.” We had such a wonderful time of worship led by Pastor Caleb and Pastor Daphne. One of our sisters also sang a beautiful hymn, and the Lord quickened to me Psalms 46:10 (Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted in all the nations. I will be exalted in all the earth”). It was such a beautiful and sacred moment, and we were in anticipation of what God was going to do. To God be the Glory!

Catching God's Heartbeat - Mona Ng

A step of obedience opened the door for my son and I to embark on The BCW Prayer Journey

in January. I never could imagine taking such a long flight all the way to the UK, and I was filled with apprehension, yet with excitement and anticipation of what the Lord had in store for us on this trip. The BCW was no longer just a place I heard about during church services;

it now came “alive” to me. It was not just an intercessory trip but an adventure walking through the history of great men and women of God who availed themselves to Him. Through their faith and prevailing prayers, they ushered in revival and historical change. On this trip, we felt the heartbeat of God and encountered Him in very personal ways. It was so amazing that God orchestrated this trip for my son and I and led us to meet with people in the team, affirming the desires He’s put in my heart, and blessing my son with prayers and prophetic words. God spoke to him so clearly on the mountains too. Thank you, Pastor Daphne and team! We enjoyed the trip, we love the place, and we are very blessed and glad we went.
